Timeline: 'Seven' Opening Credits
Timeline: 'Seven' Opening Credits
For this task, I deconstructed the credits to the film opening of 'Seven', a 1995 psychological thriller, and organised the sequence into a timeline. This was to visually show the order of the credits, the times in which they appear and images of text itself. The reason behind this was to use as inspiration for my own film opening, helping to identify an approximate time and order standard credits should appear.
Evaluation:
- It is clear from the timeline that the first credits to appear are usually the actor name of the main protagonist, whom which is often the subject for selling or promoting the film.
- Additionally, more important cast members are emphasised by the use of a white text  contrasting against the black background rather than layered over clips.
- There is often an interval, usually enigmatic clips of some sort, between each set of text credits.
- More names are shown in one clip as the lesser well known or important actors and roles are introduced (for example, main protagonist versus casting director).
- Typography remains consistent.
- The title is often displayed either at the end of the credits or after the main body of the cast, such as protagonists, have been introduced.
