Twisted Pictures: Our chosen Production Company:

For our media  opening sequence we decided to use 'Twisted Pictures'. A n American independent production company, which mostly produces films of the horror genre. Mostly in the sub-genre of slasher horror such as the Saw series which began in 2004.

The reason to why this production company was chosen over ones such as Blumhouse which also produces many within the horror genre is because Twisted Pictures specifically targets the slasher genre and Blumhouse the supernatural. Therefore making it more appropriate and relevant to our scene.

The production company sequence shows blog text being wrapped in barbed wire, a representation of the violence to come within our scene. As well as the use of non diegetic sound of lightening. Lightening usually being used as a representation of a bad situation. Therefore from the very beginning the audience know of the type of events to come. The dark background also fits in well since dark colours are commonly used within horror movies as a representation of the darkness/dark events to come.

• Overall i believe this production company to be the most appropriate since it relates to our scene the most.
• Although others could have been used such as Blumhouse, and Ghost House Pictures, we as a group believed this to be the best.
• Linking to sound, colour, and visual affect, it gives the audience the greatest idea of what is to come.
