Preliminary Filming Evaluation
We
used shot reverse shot when filming to show a heated discussion between the
characters in the video. Shot reverse shots are commonly used in association
with the 180 degree rule to show all characters and props in the scene.
We
then recorded match on action of the character walking through a door using
three different shots that had to be edited in order for them to flow properly.
This made the video flow better and allowed us to experiment with different
camera angles.
The
use of an over shoulder shot allows the viewer to see that the character is
completing an important task or having a conversation. We used it to show the
character and that they were searching through a filing character to find an
important piece of information.

We
decided to use a hand held camera for part of our video as this would make it
more dramatic and as a result make it seem more realistic when watching it. Hand held cameras are commonly used when a character is in a state of panic and feels the urgency to get away or remove themselves from a dangerous situation.
Finally the use of a high angled camera at the end makes this character seem vulnerable and weak which is the impression we wanted to give as she was being bullied and became ill after an allergy. High angles shots are very effective as they can give a lot of information on a persons class/status and wellbeing.

Evaluation
When filming our preliminary task, we faced many obstacles that we had to overcome. The main issue was the match on action we filmed of the door opening as we had to have the camera on both sides of the door to create the full effect of the character walking through it. We had to make sure that we had the camera at the correct angle on either side of the door to ensure that when the footage was edited together, it flowed well and looked effective. I think the most effective shots we filmed were the high angle shot shown above when the character was confronted with the oranges and the hand held camera used in the chase scene. We had to record the chase scene multiple times to determine the correct distance that the camera had to be away from the characters to make it look realistic and dramatic. If we was to do it again I would spend more time filming to make all the footage a better quality for example checking the lighting in the room as some shots were too dark.
