Planning for preliminary task
Firstly, we thought of and made notes of our idea and
concept. We discussed the actors we needed, which was three girls, myself,
Lauryn and Kelsey. We then discussed who was going to be in which part, Lauryn
and Kelsey were the girls trying to get revenge. We discussed where we were
going to film our video, we decided this would be in the media room, the
corridor just outside the media room and up the staircase leading up to the
media room, all at school. We decided to film on Monday 28th
September, as then we had the rest of the week to edit and produce the final
result. My group created a storyboard that shown what we wanted our preliminary
video to be. It consisted on 6 illustrations that were in the order we wanted.
The first illustration was of two girls in conversation facing each other, this
included the 180 degree rule. The second illustration was of a flashback of a
girl fake kissing a boy. The third was of the revenge girls slapping the school
books out of the other girls’ hands. The next was of the girl getting slapped
by the two girls getting revenge. The fifth was of the two girls going into the
room, where match on action was used, and getting hold of the files. The last
was of the two girls throwing oranges at the other girl, who is laying on the
floor. This was our initial plan that we used as a guide throughout filming.
Our storyboard made a very good guide line for us to work
with whilst filming as if we went off on a tangent whilst filming, we could
look at the storyboard and we would go back to our original plan. When we
discussed the acting roles, we communicated very well with each other and
worked well as a group to work out who would be best for what role, this made
the process much quicker and stress-free.
We encountered some problems when drawing up the storyboard.
I was elected to draw the illustrations and I don’t feel as though I was the
best at drawing in the group, some of the drawings can appear to be unclear and
don’t show what the shots were meant to be clearly.
If I could go back and plan again, I would get someone else
to draw in the group, or spend slightly more time drawing to make the
illustrations clearer and easier to understand.
