Fake Wound
The inspiration for my fake wound came from films such as Saw and Final Destination that use an excessive amount of blood and gore within the films to emphasise pain and danger. I therefore wanted to attempt to recreate this using a range of items that would assist in creating an open skin wound on the lower part of the arm. Below are some photo inspirations that I got from the two films I named above which show the level of blood used.
The first step of creating the fake wound was using glue I stuck 5 layers of tissue paper onto the lower arm and then covered the top in one singular layer if glue. I then used a hair dryer and spent 10 minutes drying the paper and glue in order to harden it to allow me to cut through the centre.

Before being able to cut down the middle, I used a makeup brush to cover the tissue paper in foundation that matched the skin tone to make it look more realistic. I then used a separate brush and covered the wound in a thin layer of bronzer to even out the skin tone even further. I was then able to cut down the middle with scissors.
I then used a dark purple eye shadow, red lip gloss and a black eyeliner pen to fill in the middle hole of the wound to make it look like a bruise. Then using the same brush I drew the inner makeup out onto the outer tissue paper to make it look bigger.
The final step was to use fake blood that I purchased from Asda home to fill the hole and surrounding area to make it look like it is severely bleeding out of the wound. I allowed the blood to spill out of the bottom of the hole to create a small trail from the open wound.

Evaluation
If I were to repeat this task I would use better quality glue or liquid latex to make it more realistic and would make dry faster and be easier to cut through. Also the fake blood that I used was very runny and thin which as a result made it more difficult to work with and also reduced the quality of the wound in the photographs. Something I believe I done well was to add a layer of foundation over the tissue to make it blend better with the skin. If I wasn't to of done this then the wound would look very unrealistic and anyone who looked at it would know that it was fake. Finally my main problem was to find someone to complete the fake wound on. Many of my family members were busy or too young to be able to remain seated and still for a long duration. In the end I had to travel to my sisters house and complete the wound on her arm.
