Deconstruction of Se7en Opening Credits - Timeline

Timeline of Opening of Se7en Showing Roles Within the Film

Se7en is a psychological thriller released in September 1995. The plot is two detectives following the tracks of a serial killer that murders people that commit the seven deadly sins.

When creating the timeline and getting my screen grabs, I cam to the conclusion that the order that the names of credits come up is very important. The first name to come up was 'New Line Cinema' which is the production company name, meaning it's probably one of the most important. The next is 'David Fowler', he is the man that created the film. Next is Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman and they are the main actors in the film. It then shows the title of the film in large white letters. Richard Roundtree is next, another actor. The names 'Billy Hopkins', 'Suzanne Smith' and 'Kerry Borden' appear next, they were in charge of casting the roles in the film. Then the man in charge of music within the film is presented, 'Howard Shore'. Then the costume designer 'Michael Kaplan' is credited. Then the name 'Richard Francis-Bruce' appears, he edited the film. 'Arthur Max' who was the production designer then appears. The director of photography 'Darius Khondji' is credited. Nearer the end, the people involved with the higher up jobs are credited, this includes the co-producers 'Stephen Brown', 'Nana Greenwald' and Sanford Panilich', the co-executive producers 'Lynn Harris' and 'Richard Staperstein', the executive producers 'Gianni Nunnari', 'Dan Kolsrud' and 'Anne Kopelson', the writer 'Andrew Kevin Walker', the producers 'Arnold Kopelson' and 'Phyllis Carlyle' and finally, the director 'David Fincher'. I think the order of the credentials sequence is done very well and think the order is effective.
