Practical Task - Location

Practical Task - Location

I decided to take photographs of my shed as it is old, dirty and quite mysterious. I thought it could be easily used in a psychological horror as an abandoned shack that contains biblical and mysterious objects that relate to the storyline. To make the photos look as good as possible, I had to choose the correct time of day where it wasn't too dark that you wasn't able to see but also that it wasn't too light that it just looked like an ordinary shed. As you can see in the photos, I tried to make it look as abandoned as possible by using close ups of spider webs so it looks like it hasn't been cleaned or had an occupier in a long time. If we was to use a location like this we would have to include additional props to make it more relevant to the film plot line.

Evaluation
When I took the photos I had to carefully determine the time of day that I would use. At first I waited until 7:30pm to take the photos but when I looked at the images that I had taken they were too dark and it was difficult to determine what the image was trying to show. To fix this, the next day I retook the images at an earlier time when the sky was much lighter and this allowed me to see what the image was and gave it more detail. I believe the photos look very mysterious but I don't think the location I choose was big enough to be able to use in our opening scene/credits because you wouldn't be able to fit a tripod, camera and props as well as ourselves in order to film it which would as a result reduce the quality.
