When editing the 2 minute film opening, I came to a section in the film that showed the main character lighting a match, which triggers a flashback. In order to make the match being lit more meaningful and effective, I decided to change the colour of the video, so that the small flame on the match stood out more.

In order to do this, I could either change to colour contrast, or add a contrasting effect. I first attempted to change the colour of the video. To do this, you need to select 'Colour adjustment' in the top right corner of the screen. I decided to leave the colours how they were as this was too difficult to do and get spot on, as changing one colour made another colour majorly decrease, which isn't the effect I wanted.
I decided to just add an effect over the top of the video as I knew I could find exactly what I wanted. I scrolled down the list of effects until I found 'Heat wave'. This effect made golden and yellow tones stand out and slightly faded any blue tones around it. This effectively made the flame stand out, which is exactly what I wanted to do.Evaluation-
Overall, I think adding this effect definitely made the flame the centre of the attention for this scene and gives the match some purpose, making the audience more aware of the genre and plot line of the film opening.
