Preliminary Planning Evaluation

Preliminary Planning Evaluation

We were given 1 lesson to discuss and plan as a group our decided plot line and camera angles that we would use for our preliminary task. Within this time we had to plan and create a storyboard that would show step by step the different camera angles and editing we would use when recording our video. Included in our storyboard is match on action, shot reverse shot and flashbacks to give a detailed explanation of what we planned to achieve by the end of this task.

We all worked together to complete the storyboard fast and efficiently which meant we had more time to film and edit as it wasn't taken up by continuous planning. We then all had a discussion and decided who would be bringing the props needed such as the oranges and allergy page. The next lesson we used a camera to record our short video that would include shot reverse shot, match on action and many more. Our final lesson was then used to put all the clips together and add sound effects and special effects.

Evaluation
If we was given the opportunity to re-plan our preliminary task I would spend slightly more time drawing out the storyboard. This is because, at times it became a bit confusing because the drawings weren't completely clear. I believe this is because we felt, as a group, that we was in a rush to complete this stage so we could spend more time filming and editing our short clip. Looking back, I now realise that the planning stage is just as important as the rest and if we spent just that extra bit of time on planning, I believe our preliminary task would have been much more professional. I think the storyline we created was very unique and humorous which I was happy about. We all wanted to incorporate some humour into our video for the audience and I believe the planning stage allowed us to brainstorm our ideas well and gave us the opportunity to create it the way we wanted to.
