In the film 'Cabin In The Woods' five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods. The actors used were representative of the common conventions of actors in slasher horror films. The first character to die is Jules Louden, who gets decapitated. Jules is known as the group 'slut' and the one who is portrayed as sexualised. This is a common convention of the actors in slasher horror films, as the 'slut' is seen as the most vulnerable.
The second character to die is the 'Athlete' of the group, Curt Vaughan. He died whilst driving his motorcycle into an invisible force field as his head got smashed in. This again is a common convention of actors in slasher horror films.
The next character to die is Holden McCrea, who is the 'scholar' or the nerdy one. He dies by being
stabbed by one of the killers. This fits in with the conventional features of characters in slasher horror films.
The fourth characters to die are Marty Mikalski and Dana Polk.
Marty is the fool character, he's a stoner that is always acting stupid. Dana is the virgin character, who appears the most innocent. In a conventional slasher horror film, the fool dies second to last and the virgin either survives or dies last. However, in this film a sudden and unexpected ending ends both lives and the lives of othes in the set of 'The Cabin In The Woods'.
